Equation of a line passing through\[(-1,2,-3)\] and perpendicular to the plane \[2x+3y+z+5=0\]is

    A)  \[\frac{x-1}{-1}=\frac{y+2}{1}=\frac{z-3}{-1}\]

    B)  \[\frac{x+1}{-1}=\frac{y-2}{1}=\frac{z+3}{1}\]

    C)  \[\frac{x+1}{2}=\frac{y-2}{3}=\frac{z+3}{1}\]

    D)  None of the above

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

The required line passes through\[(-1,2,-3)\]and is perpendicular to the plane \[2x+3y+z+5=0,\]therefore it is parallel to the normal to the plane, whose direction ratios are 2, 3, 1. Hence, direction ratios of the line are 2, 3, 1 and so its equation is \[\frac{x+1}{2}=\frac{y-2}{3}=\frac{z+3}{1}\]
