RAJASTHAN PMT Rajasthan - PMT Solved Paper-2000

  • question_answer
A radio station is transmitting the waves of wavelength 300m. Radiation capacity of the transmitter is 10 kW. Find out the number of photons which are emitting in per unit time:

    A)  \[1.5\times {{10}^{35}}\]

    B)         \[1.5\times {{10}^{31}}\]

    C)  \[1.5\times {{10}^{29}}\]

    D)         \[1.5\times {{10}^{33}}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

                Number of photons            \[=\frac{P}{E}\] \[=\frac{P\lambda }{hc}=\frac{10\times {{10}^{3}}\times 300}{\begin{align}   & 6.6\times {{10}^{-34}}\times 3\times {{10}^{8}} \\  & =1.5\times {{10}^{31}} \\ \end{align}}\]
