    Solution :

    Here, \[{{V}_{L}}={{V}_{C}}\] But in circuit they are opposite in phase so, they will cancel each other. Resultant potential difference       = applied potential difference       = 100 volt   \[Z=\sqrt{{{R}^{2}}+{{({{X}_{L}}-{{X}_{C}})}^{2}}}\]       \[=\sqrt{{{R}^{2}}+0}\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,\,(\therefore {{X}_{L}}={{X}_{C}})\] \[\therefore \]    \[Z=R\] \[\therefore \]  \[{{I}_{rms}}=\frac{{{V}_{rms}}}{Z}=\frac{{{V}_{rms}}}{R}=\frac{100}{50}=2\,\text{amp}\]
