Introduction. 15th August is the biggest National Festival of India. On this day in 1947, India got freedom from the British rule. For many years foreigners ruled over India. The morning of 15th August 1947, brought a new hope in the hearts of all Indian men, women and children. From that day we celebrate this auspicious day with great pomp and show.
Struggle against the Britishers. Freedom of India was the result of ninny sacrifices of our national leaders. Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Subhash Chander Bose, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad ind many others struggled against the English rule and went to jail many (lines. All these leaders demanded 'Total Independence' and nothing less. Mahatma Gandhi raised his voice against the exploitation only by his non- Violent ways. Jawahar Lal Nehru and Subhash Chander Bose went abroad many times to raise their voice and win the confidence of international- lenders for our country.
National Festival. Every year, Govt. of India celebrates 15th August in the national capital with great enthusiasm. Many preparations are made (0 celebrate this festival. The Prime-Minister of India unfurls the National ring from the rampart of Red-Fort. After taking salutes from the chiefs of our Army, Navy and Air-Force, the Prime Minister addresses the Nation.

Our progress in the fields of advance technology, defence preparedness, self-sufficiency in food grains, education and space technology is quite satisfactory. India can boast of good teachers, doctors, scientists, engineers and technocrats. But at present, we have witnessed dome cases of scams and scandals. We are facing some abuses of drugs, lids and terrorism.
Completion. A nation is known by the characters of its people. All the students and young generation of India should develop a good character. We should not forget the ideals and characteristics of our freedom fighters. Our efforts should be sincere. It is our moral duty to remove all the obstacles ill the way of our national interest. It will be our true homage to the freedom fighters.
