The Carbylamine reaction is a chemical test for detection of primary amines. In this reaction, the analyte is heated with alcoholic potassium hydroxide and chloroform. If a primary amine is present, the isocyanide is formed. For example, the reaction with ethylamine:  RNH2 + CHCl2 + 4KOH ——> RNC + 3KCl + 3H2O The reaction with aniline:   1727_ethanolic potassium hydroxide.JPG The carbylamine test does not give a positive reaction with secondary and tertiary amines.  In this video Mr. Lalit Sardana(IIT-JEE AIR 243) an IITJEE trainer will be explaining you some topics related to it. He has done a lot of things that are above the call of duty. This video is useful for students appearing in 11th CBSE, 12th CBSE exams and for the students appering in the competitive exams like JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, VITEEE, WBJEE, KCET, J and K Engineering, MPPET, AIPMT. A resistor–inductor circuit (RL circuit), or RL filter or RL network, is one of the simplest analogue infinite impulse response electronic filters. It consists of a resistor and an inductor, either in series, driven by a voltage source.   RL circuits form a single-pole filter. Depending on whether the reactive element is in series with the load, or parallel with the load will dictate whether the filter is low-pass or high-pass.   Frequently RL circuits are used for DC power supplies to RF amplifiers, where the inductor is used to pass DC bias current and block the RF getting back into the power supply. Mr. Lalit Sardana(IIT JEE AIR 243) is teaching you the topic Series combination of resistor and inductor. He has explained phasor diagram and sine equation that are related to the topic in this video. The students would not find it difficult to understand as the topic more...

A resistor–capacitor circuit (RC circuit), or RC filter or RC network, is an electric circuit composed of resistors and capacitors driven by a voltage or current source. A first order RC circuit is composed of one resistor and one capacitor and is the simplest type of RC circuit. RC circuits can be used to filter a signal by blocking certain frequencies and passing others. The two most common RC filters are the high-pass filters and low-pass filters; band-pass filters and band-stop filters usually require RLC filters, though crude ones can be made with RC filters. The total impedance (resistance) of this circuit is the contribution from both the capacitor and resistor. From the previous section we have seen that the capacitative reactance Xc is shifted by - 90° from the perturbing voltage signal and therefore is expressed in complex form as  Xc = -j Xc The total circuit impedance is more...

Capacitance is the ability of a body to store an electrical charge. Any object that can be electrically charged exhibits capacitance. A common form of energy storage device is a parallel-plate capacitor. In a parallel plate capacitor, capacitance is directly proportional to the surface area of the conductor plates and inversely proportional to the separation distance between the plates. If the charges on the plates are +q and -q, and V gives the voltage between the plates, then the capacitance C is given by  C = frac{q}{V}. which gives the voltage/current relationship  :I(t) = C frac{mathrm{d}V(t)}{mathrm{d}t}. 10th Physics lectures: For Secondary students science is a combined subject. But still science paper is divided into 3 and the marks allotted are also categorized into 3 subjects. If the basics of physics are clear to you from initial level itself it would not be a problem to the students as they grow. This video lectures are an effort laid down in an attempt to make students capable enough to understand the basics of physics. The videos are combined form of the theoretical topics and the practical ones. Practical videos help students to understand density, boiling point, meting point, Archimedes Principle etc. Physics covers a wide range of phenomena, from the smallest sub-atomic particles, to the largest galaxies. Included in this are the very most basic objects from which all other things are composed, and therefore physics is sometimes said to be the "fundamental science. Please mention your comments below: more...

12th class Chemistry lectures: Chemistry has a reputation for being a complicated and boring science, but for the most part, that reputation is undeserved. Fireworks and explosions are based on chemistry, so it's definitely not a boring science. If you take classes in chemistry, you'll apply math and logic, which can make studying chemistry a challenge if you are weak in those areas. However, anyone can understand the basics of how things work... and that's the study of chemistry. In a nutshell, the importance of chemistry is that it explains the world around you. Chemistry is an important subject for every student who opts for Mathematics or Science as their choice of subject. Chemistry is a subject that people deal with the whole life. Thus StudyAdda is presenting you with some videos of this subject that can help you understand this subject efficiently and thus improve your performance at academic more...

Mathematics is the abstract study of topics such as quantity (numbers), structure, space, and change. There is a range of views among mathematicians and philosophers as to the exact scope and definition of mathematics. Mathematicians seek out patterns and use them to formulate new conjectures. Mathematicians resolve the truth or falsity of conjectures by mathematical proof. When mathematical structures are good models of real phenomena, then mathematical reasoning can provide insight or predictions about nature. Through the use of abstraction and logic, mathematics developed from counting, calculation, measurement, and the systematic study of the shapes and motions of physical objects. Practical mathematics has been a human activity for as far back as written records exist. The research required to solve mathematical problems can take years or even centuries of sustained inquiry. StudyAdda have come up with the same thought that whatever videos StudyAdda has uploaded relating to the mathematics problems and their solutions will help the students to clarify their doubts. 12th video lectures have been prepared by going through the current curriculum of these exams. more...

9th class Mathematics lectures: Even though Mathematics undoubtedly has universal applications to life and is an essential tool in science, technology, economics, business, commerce and of course in computer design and functioning there is a general tendency for people to shy away from it for various reasons-some feel it is too difficult while others do not see its practical connection to everyday life. Consequently, we find just a small number of people who pursue this fascinating subject and the end result is that there is always only a small core of brilliant or good mathematicians which helps to reinforce the perception that this area of study is only reserved for an elitist few. But maybe this perception is bolstered by the manner in which mathematics is taught and that is, it is done in too much of an abstraction and perhaps if our teachers could help students to see how these “abstract concepts” are more...
