 The Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP) has signed an agreement with US-based Research Institute for Fragrant Materials (RIFM) for improving the quality of fragrant oils. RIFM internationally standardizes the quality of fragrant materials. The pact was signed by Anil Kumar Tripathi, Director CSIR-CIMAP and Jim Romane,President of the RIFM at the conclusion of the two-day annual conference of the International Fragrance Association in Paris.

 State-owned NBCC (India) Limited (formerly National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited) has signed an agreement with the Health Ministry to acquire Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation (HSCC). Earlier NBCC had stated that it will buy out the government’s stake in consultancy firm HSCC for Rs 285 crore. HSCC, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,provides consultancy services in healthcare and other social sectors in India and abroad.

 The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved 100% strategic disinvestment of the government’s equity in the Dredging Corporation of India Ltd. Presently, the government of India holds 73.44% shares in Dredging Corporation of India Limited. Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave its approval to Amendment to the Central Universities Act, 2009 for setting up of Central Tribal University in Andhra Pradesh. Cabinet also approved leasing out six airports, namely Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Mangaluru for operation, management, and development under Public Private Partnership.

 The Central and Andhra Pradesh governments and the World Bank have signed the loan agreement for a $172.20 million project to enhance agricultural productivity, profitability, and climate resilience of poor and marginalized farmers in Andhra Pradesh. The projects seek to ensure that farming continues to remain a financially viable activity. The Andhra Pradesh Integrated Irrigation and Agriculture Transformation Project (APIIATP) will be implemented in rural areas largely dependent upon rain-fed agriculture.

  The Ministry of Tourism signed an MoU with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Government for the Republic of Korea for strengthening cooperation in the field of Tourism in New Delhi. Mr K J Alphons, Union Tourism Minister and Mr. Do Jong-hwan Korean, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Sports, Republic of Korea signed the MoU and officials from the Ministry and their counterparts from the Korean side were also present during the signing ceremony.

 India and Malawi have signed three MoUs on Extradition Treaty, cooperation in the field of Atomic Energy for peaceful purposes and VISA Waiver for Diplomatic and Official Passports. The MoU was signed during Vice President Venkaiah Naidu visit in Malawi. India will also extend a new Line of credit of 215 million US dollars to Malawi for 18 water projects.

 During the visit of Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu, India has agreed for the deputation of experts in five fields to assist Zimbabwe. Around 6 agreements in various fields were signed in areas including Mining, Visa waiver, Broadcasting and Culture. India will extend Line of credits of more than 350 million US Dollars to Zimbabwe for two power projects and a drinking water project. India will give about 3 million US dollar grant for upgradation of Indo-Zim Technology centre. Assistance for construction of Mahatma Gandhi Convention Centre in Zimbabwe will also be granted by India. The Vice President is on a visit to 3 African nations namely Botswana, Zimbabwe and Malawi.

 An MoU for collaboration in LPG services was signed between Oil Marketing Companies (IOCL, HPCL & BPCL) and CSC e-Governance Services India Limited in presence of Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of Law & Justice and Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and ShriDharmendraPradhan, Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Skill Development &Entrepreneurship. CSC SPV and OMCs have agreed to facilitate their distributors to avail the following services through Common Services Centers:
  • Booking new LPG connection (Ujjwala& General category)
  • Booking of LPG refills (14.2 Kg cylinders)
  • Supply & distribution of LPG cylinders (storage up to 100 Kgs,) throughCSCs.
Common Services Centre will help beneficiaries to provide the above OMCs service near to their home, accessing through Digital Seva Portal.

 WhatsApp has partnered with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to train small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs on using the messaging platform to connect with customers and growing their businesses. WhatsApp and CII will work to enhance business communication for Indian SMEs through CII’s SME Technology Facilitation Centre. They will also develop informative content to be distributed among entrepreneurs both in physical and digital formats.

 The state government of Arunachal Pradesh signed an MoU with the British Council to strengthen educational and cultural cooperation, in order to support the knowledge ambitions and economic growth of the state. The agreement aims to enhance the opportunities for the youth of Arunachal Pradesh and connect them to international expertise and ideas. It was signed by Tayek Talom, Director of Higher and Technical Education of Arunachal Pradesh and Alan Gemmell, Director of British Council India, on the sidelines of the Tawang Festival.
