 Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport has climbed six positions to reach on 16th Position to enter the club of the top 20 airports across the world, the Airport Council International’s preliminary report on airport traffic for 2017. IGI's passenger traffic grew by 14.1% year over year. The report added that IGI Airport was also the fastest-growing airport among those in the top 20 club. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport in the United States with 104 million passengers secured the top spot, followed by Beijing at the second position and Dubai at the third.

 Patna tops in 4G connectivity among 20 of India’s largest cities. It has emerged ahead of the likes of Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi, according to the report of OpenSignal, a wireless coverage mapping company. Four cities from India’s central and eastern regions—Patna, Kanpur, Allahabad, Kolkata, Bhopal and Lucknow—made it to the top 10 while popular tech hubs like Bengaluru are at 10, followed by Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi.

 India emerged as the third most vulnerable country in terms of risk of cyber threats, such as malware, spam and ransomware, in 2017, according to a report by security solutions provider Symantec. In 2017, 5.09% of global threats detected were in India. The U.S. (26.61%) was most vulnerable to such attacks, followed by China (10.95%), according to ‘Internet Security Threat Report’.

  The Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Mr Prakash Javadekar, released the NIRF (National Institute of Ranking Framework) India Rankings 2018 in various categories on the basis of performance of Higher Educational Institutions in a programme held in New Delhi.
The top 3 Overall Institutes in India are:
  • 1. Indian Institute of Science (IISc Bengaluru),
  • 2. Indian Institute of Technology Madras,
  • 3. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
Minister of State Human Resource Development, Dr. Satya Pal Singh released the report on the NIRF Rankings during the event. 69 top institutions in 9 categories were given awards at the event. The Ministry emphasised on the initiatives like GIAN, RUSA, SWAYAM, SWAYAM Prabha, TEQUIP III, Smart India Hackathon, that are in direction to further boost the Quality, Research and Innovation in education.
The top 3 Universities in India are- 
  • 1. Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru,
  • 2. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi,
  • 3. Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi.

 According to report released by global startup ecosystem map Startupblink, India was ranked 37th out of 125 countries in global startup ecosystem in 2017. Startupblink is a global startup ecosystem map with tens of thousands of registered startups, coworking spaces, and accelerators. The list, measuring startup ecosystem strength and activity, was topped by the United States followed by the United Kingdom.
