    Gamete Zygote
    The cells involved in sexual reproduction are called gametes, e.g., sperm (male) and ova (female).   Gametes are unfertilized reproductive cells.   The fusion of sperm and egg forms a fertilized ovum or zygote The fusion of male gamete and female gamete forms zygote during sexual reproduction.     Zygote is fertilized egg or fertilized ovum.   Zygote undergoes development and forms a newly formed baby.
    Importance of gametes and zygote in sexual reproduction Gametes are prerequisite for the sexual reproduction. Both sperm and ova unit to form a zygote. Zygote further develops and forms an embryo which becomes a baby.
