A recombinant DNA molecule was created by ligating a gene to a plasmid vector. By mistake, an exonuclease was added to the tube containing there combinant DNA. How does this affect the next step in the experiment i.e., bacterial transformation?

    Answer:

The experiment will not likely to be affected as recombinant DNA molecule is circular and closed, with no free ends. Hence, it will not be a substrate for exo nuclease enzyme which removes nucleotides from the free ends of DNA.
