    What is the basic structural difference between starch andcellulose? 

    Answer:

    The basic difference between starch and cellulose is due tothe difference in the nature of glucose molecules. Starch consists of amylose and amylopectin, both made up ofglucose units. Amylose consists of linear chains of glucose linkedin  manner. Amylopectin consists of these linear chains further linked in  manner. In cellulose, only glucose molecules are linked to each other in manner.
