    What is shape selective catalysis?

    Answer:

A catalyst whose catalytic action depends upon its pore structure and molecular sizes of the reactants as well as the products is known as shape selective catalysts and the catalytic action is called shape selective catalysis. For example, zeolites act as shape selective catalyst. Recently ZSM-5 (a synthetic zeolite) has been used in producing gasoline of high octane number (9o ? 100) from methanol.
