What are tides and how are they Caused?

    Answer:

The rhythmic rise and fall of ocean water twice in a day is called a tide. Tides are caused by the gravitational pull of the sun and moon. Since moon is quite near so the gravitational pull of the moon is greater. Moon attracts the water's surface. The water just in front of the moon is pulled up. The rest in water level is a tide.
