On the earth, a stone is thrown from a height in a direction parallel to the earth's surface while another stone is simultaneously dropped from the same height. Which stone would reach the ground first and why?

    Answer:

Time taken by both stone is given by second equation of motion As,                            so, and here                            s = h Where, m = Initial velocity in y-axis a = g acceleration due to gravity t = time displacement to time So,                                                             Therefore, if we drop down a stone from a height (h) and at same time throw another stone in horizontal direction, then both the stone strike the earth simultaneously at different places.
