In what way is the Rutherford's atomic model different from that of Thomson's atomic model?

    Answer:

According to Thomson's model, an atom is a positively charged sphere in which electrons were embedded which neutralize the positive charge so that, the atom as a whole is electrically neutral. According to Rutherford's model of atom, the positive charge and mass of the atom are concentrated in the small nucleus in the centre of the atom and negatively charged electrons are distributed (revolving) around the nucleus.
