A batch of bottles were packed in 25 boxes with 12 bottles in each box. If the same packed using 20 bottles each box, how many boxes would be filled?

    Answer:

Suppose that x boxes would be filled. We have the following table.
    Number of bottles 12 20
    Number of boxes 25 \[x\]
Lesser the number of bottles, more will be number of boxes required to be filled. So, this is a case of inverse proportion. Hence, \[2\times 25=20\times x\] \[\Rightarrow \]               \[x=\frac{12\times 25}{20}\] \[\Rightarrow \]               \[x=15\] Hence 15 boxes would be filled.
