People of Kolkata speak 'bengali’. The famous places of Kolkata are Victoria Memorial, Biria Planeterium, Rabindra, Sarovar, Science City.

Rice and fish is the main food of Kolkata. 'Rasogulla's the famous bengali sweet.

CHENNAI

Chennai is known as the "city of temples". Chennai is warm throughout the year. 'Pongal’ is the main festival celebrated here. Chennai is an important tourist centre.

The main attraction of the city is the 'Marina

Beach’, War Memorial, Gandhi Mandapam,

Vivekanand Museum etc.

Bharatnatyam is a famous dance of Chennai.

 

NATIONAL SYMBOLS OF INDIA

Every country has national symbols which represents the country. Our country is also having some symbols. Let us study the symbols of India.

1. NATIONAL FLAG

The flag of India is a tricolour flag with deep saffron at the top, white in the middle and green at the bottom.

In the centre navy blue wheel with twenty four spokes' called Ashok Chakra is present.

 

2. NATIONAL EMBLEM

It consists of 4 lions standing back to back. At the bottom it has 1 horse, 1 bull, lion and elephant separated by a wheel.

 

3. NATIONAL ANTHEM

'Jana Gana Mana’ is the national Anthem of India written by "Rabindra Nath Tagore".

‘Vande Mataram’ is the national song of India.

5. NATIONAL FLOWER

‘Lotus' is the national flower of India.

Tiger is the national animal of India.

'Peacock’ is the national bird of India.
