      Though the same current flows through line wires or the filament of a bulb yet only the latter glows. Why?

    Answer:

                      The filament of electric lamp has high resistance whereas the line wires are of negligible resistance. Since amount of heat generated is proportional to the resistance, the filament generates much more heat and it starts glowing.
