  Why does our mouth waters when we eat something? 

Answer:

                  The salivary glands present in our mouth releases saliva, which gives us a watery feeling. The brain registers that food is coming and instructs the saliva gland underneath your tongue to produce saliva, which helps to breakdown the food as we chew it and makes it softer as it enters the gut.                           (2)
