                      Absorption of digested food occur mainly in the small intestine because (i) Digestion of food is completed in small intestine. (ii) Inner lining of small intestine bears a number of finger-like  projections  called villi, which increases the surface area for absorption.            (iii) Wall of intestine has blood vessels for carrying the absorbed food to different parts of the body.                                                  (1x3)
