How does a solenoid behave like a magnet? Can you determine the north and south poles of a current-carrying solenoid with the help of a bar magnet? Explain.                                          [NCERT]

    Answer:

The current due to moving electron beam is in a direction opposite to motion of the beam. The force on electron is towards right. By Fleming's left-hand rule, we can see that the direction of magnetic field is vertically downward.
