       Why sodium chloride has high melting point?

    Answer:

                      Sodium chloride consist of sodium ion  and chloride ion These are strongly attracted towards each other to form ionic bond. To break this strong force of attraction between them, a large amount of energy is required. Hence, sodium chloride has high melting point.                                                     (2)
