What is the maximum possible velocity at lowest position for oscillation of a simple pendulum of length L? What can happen to the motion if the velocity exceeds this value?

    Answer:

For oscillation of a simple pendulum of length L, max. possible vel. at lowest point. If velocity exceeds this value, but is less than\[\sqrt{5gL}\], the pendulum will leave the vertical circle somewhere between\[\text{9}0{}^\circ <\theta <\text{18}0{}^\circ \]. However, when \[\upsilon =\sqrt{5gL}\], the pendulum will complete the vertical circle.
