  How does the temperature of Earth's atmosphere remain fairly uniform during the day?  

Answer:

                  Air being a bad conductor of heat, forms a protective blanket around the Earth. During daytime it prevents sudden rise in temperature. At night, it slows down escape of heat into outer space. Thus, it maintains fairly uniform temperature during the day and night cycle.
