Helium atom has 2 electrons in its valence shell but its valency is not 2. Explain.

    Answer:

Atomic number of helium is 2. K is its valence shell, so it can accommodate only 2 electrons (maximum capacity). It means that its valence shell is complete. So, its valency is zero instead of two.
