JEE Main & Advanced Physics NLM, Friction, Circular Motion Question Bank Assertion and Reason

  • question_answer
Assertion          :           Aeroplanes always fly at low altitudes.             Reason            :           According to Newton?s third law of motion, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

    A)             If both assertion and reason are true and the reason is the correct explanation of the assertion.

    B)             If both assertion and reason are true but reason is not the correct explanation of the assertion.

    C)             If assertion is true but reason is false.

    D)             If the assertion and reason both are false.

    E)             If assertion is false but reason is true.

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

The wings of the aeroplane pushes the external air backward and the aeroplane move forward by reaction of pushed air. At low altitudes density of air is high and so the aeroplane gets sufficient force to move forward.
