Examine the following statements and find out the correct answer using the following codes:
    1. Moscow in the Russian Federation has the highest annual range of temperature in the world.
    2. Singapore has one of the lowest annual ranges of temperature in the world.

    A)  1 only

    B)  2 only

    C)  Both 1 and 2

    D)  Neither 1 nor 2

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Moscow has January and July temperature of \[-{{9.8}^{o}}C\] and \[+{{18.62}^{o}}C\] respectively. Thus the annual range of temperature is 28.42. Verkhoyansk in eastern Siberia has January and July temperature of\[-{{50}^{o}}C\] and \[+{{15.5}^{o}}C\] respectively making the annual range of temperature of \[{{65.5}^{o}}C\]. Hence Verkhoyansk has the highest range of temperature in the world. Singapore has January and July temperature of \[{{26.41}^{o}}C\] and \[{{27.52}^{o}}C\]. This makes annual range of temperature of \[{{1.11}^{o}}C\] only which is one of the lowest in the world.
