    The area of the right angled \[\Delta \text{AOB}\]is 16 sec units If 0 is the origin and the coordinates of A are (8, 0), what are the coordinates of B?      

    A)  (0,4)                                       

    B)  (0,2)

    D)  \[\left( 0,\frac{1}{2} \right)\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

     Since, AOB is the right angled \[\Delta \] and A is on the axis of x as its coordinates are \[(8,0)\]. Hence, B should be on the axis of y. Let its coordinates be \[(0,y)\]. \[\therefore \]  \[16=\frac{1}{2}\times 8\times y\] or            \[y=4\] Hence, the co-ordinates of B are \[(0,4)\].
