A money lender finds that due to a fall in the rate of interest from 8% to \[7\frac{3}{4}%\], his yearly income diminishes by Rs. 615. His capital is

    A)  Rs. 260000

    B)         Rs. 246000

    C)  Rs. 238000

    D)         Rs. 224000

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

     Let the capital be Rs. x. Then \[\frac{x\times 8\times 1}{100}-x\frac{31}{4}\times \frac{1}{100}=615\]                 or            \[32x-31x=61500\times 4\]                 \[\therefore \]  \[x=246000\]
