    If x : y = 2 : 3 and 2 : x = 1 : 2, then the value of y is __.

    A)  \[\frac{1}{3}\]

    B)  \[\frac{3}{2}\]

    C) \[6\]

    D)         \[\frac{1}{2}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    We have, \[\frac{x}{y}=\frac{2}{3}\] and \[\frac{2}{x}=\frac{1}{2}\] or \[x=4\]. Now putting \[x\] in \[\frac{x}{y}=\frac{2}{3}\], we get \[\frac{4}{y}=\frac{2}{3}\Rightarrow 2y=4\times 3\Rightarrow y=6\]
