Pappu is very good in maths. He made some grids where the diagonals are equal. He made four such grids and erased a number from all the four grids. He erased the same number from all the four grids. Can you tell the number?

    A)   3

    B)  4

    C)  6

    D)  8

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

         In Grid A. 12\[\div \]3 = 4 as 3 groups of 4 = 12 \[\therefore \]16\[\div \]4 = 4 as 4 groups of 4 = 16 and diagonal should be equal so the missing number is 4. In Grid B. 28\[\div \]14 = 2 as 14 groups of 2 = 28 \[\therefore \]8\[\div \]4 = 2 as 4 groups of 2 = 8 \[\therefore \] the missing no. is 4. In Grid C. 14\[\div \]2 = 7 as 2 groups of 7 = 14. \[\therefore \] 28\[\div \]4 = 7 as 4 groups of 7 = 28 \[\therefore \]the missing no. is 4. In Grid D. 18 \[\div \]2 = 9 as 2 groups of 9 = 18 \[\therefore \]36 \[\div \]4 = 9 as 4 groups of 9 = 36 \[\therefore \] the missing no. is 4. As same number was erased from all the grids so the missing number is 4 Therefore, the answer is option (b) 4.
