A small tin contains 2 litres of paint. A large tin contains 6 litres more than small tin. Ajay bought the given tin of paint. How much paint did he buy altogether?

    A)  36 litres

    B)  48 litres

    C)  32 litres

    D)  40 litres

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Quantity of paint in 1 small tin = 2 litres Quantity of paint in 1 large tin = (6 + 2) litres = 8 litres It is given that Ajay bought 2 small tins and 4 large tins. \[\therefore \] Quantity of paint in 2 small tins = (2 + 2) litres = 4 litres Quantity of paint in 4 large tins = (8 + 8 + 8 + 8) litres = 32 litres So, total quantity of paint Ajay bought = (4 + 32) litres = 36 litres
