    Total length of the ribbon = 4 m Part of the ribbon given away = 2.53 m \[\therefore \] Remaining part \[=(\text{4}-\text{2}.\text{53})\text{m}=\text{1}.\text{47 m}\] Length of each of the 3 equal pieces \[=\text{ 1}.\text{47 m }\div \text{ 3}\] (Since 1 m = 100 cm.) \[=\text{ 147 cm}\div \text{3}=\text{49 cm}\]
