The length of a rectangle is \[\frac{6}{5}\] of its breadth. If its perimeter is\[132\,\,m\], find its area.

    A) \[1080\,\,{{m}^{2}}\]

    B)                    \[640\,\,{{m}^{2}}\]

    C)                    \[1620\,\,{{m}^{2}}\]

    D)                    \[2160\,\,{{m}^{2}}\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Perimeter of the rectangle\[=132\,\,m\]             \[=2(\ell +b)=132\,\,m\]             \[=2\left( \frac{6b}{5}+b \right)=132\,\,m\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[\frac{11\,\,b}{5}=66\,\,m\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[b=\frac{66\times 5}{11}m=30\,\,m\] \[\therefore \]      \[l=\frac{6\,\,b}{5}=\frac{66\times 5}{11}m=36\,\,m\] Thus, area of the rectangle             \[=l\times b=\frac{6\,\,b}{5}=\frac{6\times 30}{5}=36\,\,m\]
