Sameer went to purchase cricket kit and gave to cashier two coins of Rs.5, four notes of Rs.10, three notes of Rs.50 and two notes of Rs.500. If the price of cricket kit was Rs.1162, the change that he would have got back is _____.

    A) Rs.38

    B) Rs.15

    C) Rs.30

    D) Rs.32

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Amount given to cashier = 2\[\times \]Rs.5 + 4\[\times \]Rs.10 + 3\[\times \]Rs.50 + 2\[\times \]Rs.500 = Rs.10 + Rs.40 + Rs.150 + Rs.1000 = Rs.1200 Price of cricket kit is Rs.1162 So, change to be returned back = Rs.1200 - Rs.1162 = Rs.38.
