     In the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir the treaty of Chittor was signed. This treaty was concluded between Rana Amar Singh and Jahangir by which Rana accepted sovereignty of Mughal Empire over Chittor. By this treaty the fort of Chittorgarh was returned to Rana on the condition that he will not new construction work of the fort.
