    By applying factor theorem, If \[(x-3)\] is a factor of polynomial \[P(x)={{x}^{2}}-x-6,\]then remainder\[P(3)=0\] \[P(3)={{3}^{2}}-3-6\] \[=9-3-6\] \[=9-9=0\] \[\therefore \]  \[(x-3)\] is a factor of polynomial\[P(x)\].
