The figure is made up of 4 identical squares. Find the area of the shaded part if area of each square is 6\[\text{c}{{\text{m}}^{\text{2}}}\].

    A)  192 \[\text{c}{{\text{m}}^{\text{2}}}\]

    B)  256 \[\text{c}{{\text{m}}^{\text{2}}}\]

    C)    64 \[\text{c}{{\text{m}}^{\text{2}}}\]

    D)    320 \[\text{c}{{\text{m}}^{\text{2}}}\]

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

Given, area of each square \[=\text{ 64 c}{{\text{m}}^{\text{2}}}\] The unshaded part of 4 squares add upto 1 square. So, no. of shaded squares \[=\text{4}-\text{1}=\text{3}\] Area of shaded part \[=\text{ 3}\times \text{64 c}{{\text{m}}^{\text{2}}}=\text{192 c}{{\text{m}}^{\text{2}}}\]
