    Six numbers R, O, H, I, T, S are such that R\[RO=1\], \[OH=\frac{1}{2},\] \[HI=6,\] \[IT=2\]and \[TS=\frac{1}{2}.\]What is the value of (RI: OT : HS) = ?

    A) \[4:3:27\]

    B)  \[6:1:9\]

    C) \[8:9:9\]

    D)  \[72:1:9\]

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    \[RI=\frac{RO\times HI}{OH}=\frac{1\times 6}{\frac{1}{2}}=12.\] \[OT=\frac{OH\times IT}{HI}=\frac{\frac{1}{2}\times 2}{6}=\frac{1}{6}.\] \[HS=\frac{HI\times TS}{IT}=\frac{6\times \frac{1}{2}}{2}=\frac{3}{2}\] \[\therefore \]\[RI:OT:HS=12:\frac{1}{6}:\frac{3}{2}=72:1:9\]
