Rashtrakuta dynasty, Hindu dynasty that ruled the Deccan and neighbouring areas of India from about 755 to 975 CE. Gurjara-Pratihara dynasty, either of two dynasties of medieval Hindu India. After the death of Pulakesin II, the eastern Chalukyas became an independent kingdom in the eastern Deccan.
