What is the term inequality of women? How is it a hindrance in the way of democracy?

"Inequality of women" expresses the state of affairs in which women do not enjoy equal status with men in the society. They are discriminated against on many grounds like-women do not got equal opportunities for political participation.

(i) Social ground - Women are not treated equally in terms of social status right from childhood.

(ii) Economic ground - Women do not get equal pay for equal work and equal opportunities for job.

This inequality does a lot of damage to the smooth and successful working of democracy.
