    What are the disadvantages of the Presidential System of Government?

    Answer:

     (a) The Executive can become autocratic as his tenure is fixed and there is no fear of a vote of no-confidence. (b) For the enactment of laws, a close relationship between the executive and legislature is essential. As the executive in this system is not a part of the legislature, the quality of legislation suffers. (c) Such a government lacks flexibility because the executive cannot influence the Parliament to make laws quickly. (d) The possibilities of deadlock between the executive and legislature exist especially if different parties form the executive and legislature.
