    What are the main powers of Prime Minister?

     (a) The Prime Minister is the real executive and all the powers of the President are actually exercised by him. (b) On the Prime Minister's advice, the President appoints the Council of Ministers. The Prime Minister assigns portfolios to the ministers and can change and remove them, if necessary. (c) He presides over cabinet meetings, formulates national policies, coordinates the work of different ministries and smoothens out frictions if necessary. (d) He is the Chairman of the Planning Commission and the Atomic Energy Commission. (e) He is the leader of the Lok Sabha and the spokesperson of the government. (f) The Prime Minister represents the national interest of the county and plays a key role in international conferences. (Any four)
