    Given that \[\cos 50{}^\circ \,\,18'=0.6388\] and \[\cos 50{}^\circ \,42'=0.6334\], then the possible value of \[\cos 50{}^\circ \,20'\] is

    A) 0.6293

    B) 0.6307

    C) 0.6361

    D) 0.6414

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

                   Given, \[\cos \,{{50}^{o}}18'=0.6388\] and   \[\cos \,{{50}^{o}}42'=0.6384\] \[\therefore \]  Difference for \[24'=0.0054\] \[\therefore \]Difference for \[2'=\frac{0.0054}{24}=0.00048\] Hence \[\cos \,{{50}^{o}}20'=0.6388-0.0005=0.6383\]
