Answer:
(i) The setting of an industrial unit may have resulted in the accumulation of DOT in the water body It must have entered the food chain through biomagnification as it can neither be metabolised nor be excreted. High concentration of DDT disturbs calcium metabolism in birds which causes thinning of egg shell. It results in premature breaking of eggs, hence causing decline in bird population. (ii) Mohan is a responsible citizen and dedicated to his profession.
