Name and explain the three categories in which the reasons for conservation of biodiversity have been classified.

    Answer:

    The three categories are:
Narrowly utilitarian: Humans derive countless economic benefits from nature which include food (cereals, pulses, truits), tire wood fibre construction material, industrial products (tannins, lubricants, dyes, resins, perfumes) and products of medical importance.
Broadly utilitarian: This argument says that biodiversity plays a major role in many ecosystem services that nature provides, e.g., pollination, pest control, climate moderation and flood control.
Ethical reasons: We have a moral responsibility to take good care of Earth's biodiversity and pass it on in good order to our next generations.
