    Direction:  Each of the next 15 questions consists of two statements, one labelled as 'assertion' (A) and other as 'Reason' (R). You are to examine these two statements carefully and select the correct answer.
    Assertion (A) X and Y sitting on the bank of a river suddenly start fighting and X throws Y into the river. Y starts shouting and requests Z, a vendor on river bank, to save him. Z though knows swimming does not pay heed Y drown, Z is not liable.
    Reason (R) People must guard against reasonable probabilities but they are not expected to guard against fantastic possibilities. A contract to purchase certain immovable property from minor's guardian on behalf of the minor, and the minor sued the other party for a decree of specific performance to recover possession. In such situation

    A)  Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A

    B)  Both A and R are true, but R is not the correct explanation of A

    C)  A is true, but R is false

    D)  A is false, but R is true

    Solution :

    Both A and R are correct and R is the correct explanation of A, because according to R, people must guard against reasonable probabilities but they are not expected to guard against fantastic possibilities. In this case though Z knew swimming, but it was not his responsibility to put his life in danger in order to save Y.
