    Direction:  Each of the next 15 questions consists of two statements, one labelled as 'assertion' (A) and other as 'Reason' (R). You are to examine these two statements carefully and select the correct answer.
    Assertion (A) The Supreme Court of India is bound by its own judgements.
    Reason (R) The highest court binds all subordinate courts.

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

    According to Indian Constitution, the Supreme Court of India is not bound by its own judgement because it has the power of Judicial Review under Article 137 of the Indian Constitution, so Assertion (A) is false. Reason (R) is correct according to' Article 141 of the Indian Constitution, which states that law declared by Supreme Court of India to be binding on all subordinate courts. So, A is false and R is true.
