  • question_answer
Three numbers A, B and C are in the ratio of 12 : 15 : 25. If sum of these numbers is 312, then find the ratio between the difference of B and A and the difference of C and B.

    A)  3 : 7

    B)  10 : 3

    C)  3 : 10

    D)  None of these

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    We have, \[a=12,\,\,b=15,\,\,c=25\] and \[x=312\] \[\therefore \] \[A=\frac{ax}{a+b+c}=\frac{12\times 312}{12+15+25}=72\] \[B=\frac{bx}{a+b+c}=\frac{15\times 312}{12+15+25}=90\] and \[C=\frac{cx}{a+b+c}=\frac{25\times 312}{12+15+25}=150\] \[\therefore \] \[B-A=18\] and \[C-B=60\] Thus, their ratio = 18 : 60 = 3 :10
