A scientist is supposed to have a complete and thorough knowledge, at first hand, of some subjects and therefore, is usually expected not to write on any topic of which he is not a master. This is regarded as a matter of noblesse oblige. For the present purpose, of writing this book, I beg to renounce the noblesse, if any and to be freed of the ensuing obligation. Which of the following must definitely be true based on the above paragraph?

    A)  The author is about to write on a topic he is ignorant

    B)         The author is a scientist

    C)         The author has written atleast one book prior to this

    D)         All of the above

    Correct Answer: D

    Solution :

There is a huge difference between 'not being a master' and 'being ignorant'. So, it is not a considerable choice. The overall context of this topic is revolving around scientist, his mastery over the subject, his writings, being noblesse oblige or its renouncement. Therefore, the author is clearly a scientist nothing can be inferred whether he has written any book prior to it.
