If the roots of the quadratic equation \[K{{x}^{2}}+3x+2=0\] are real and unequal, which of the following is true for K?

    A)  \[K>9/8\]

    B)  \[K<9/8\]

    C)         \[K<-9/8\]

    D)         \[K>8/9\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

Roots are real and unequal, if                       \[D={{b}^{2}}-4ac>0\] So, for equation \[k{{x}^{2}}+3x+2=0\] roots will be real and unequal, it \[D={{(3)}^{2}}-4\times 2\times K>0\] i.e.,       \[9-8K>0\Rightarrow K>\frac{9}{8}\]
